National Tartan Day Performance| Poet Joseph MacKenzie | The Harp of Longing: Classical Poetry of the Scottish Diaspora In-Person
The only American to have won the Scottish International Poetry Competition, traditional lyric poet Joseph Charles MacKenzie mastered verse recitation from memory in Paris under the tutelage of Madame Colette Lecour and has recited in four countries. Performing some of the most beautiful poems of the classic Scottish repertoire with Scotland-inspired verses of his own, MacKenzie takes you on a lyrical journey of love, loss, and longing. As both soloist and accompanist, prominent Albuquerque harpist Victory Corwin brings her musical powers to this one-of-a-kind event.
