Baila! Baila! Dance Classes | Ballet Folklorico/Mexican Folk Dance | Ages 6-10 In-Person
The first class of the day is for ages 6 to 10. These classes will be every Saturday through June and July. They will end with a final performance on August 2nd at 11:00 am. Classes will be taught by Israela Garcia who has been teaching with Baila! Baila! Dance Academy for many years now.
Baila! Baila! has been dedicated to preserving and sharing their Mexican culture through dance and music. Baila! Baila! weaves together a mix of pre-Colombian folklore and traditions with Spanish folklore and traditions to create a purely Mexican form of dance, music and costumes. They have partnered with the City of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico to bring free programs to kids of all ages throughout Albuquerque. This rich history is being shared with students and now thanks to the New Mexico Government Results and Opportunity Program, we are able to offer these classes at the Library for a limited time. We are working hard to provide programs for our patrons and their families.
