SUMMARY:Young Renaissance Scholars | Drawing Studio
DESCRIPTION:Teens interested in mastering classical (realistic) drawing
techniques to the standards of the great Renaissance masters are invited to
pursue this 100% free series of classes introducing young artists to the
latest international art trend: the “atelier method.” Supplies
provided. Drawing three-dimensional objects and thinking about light and
shadow gives students a deeper perspective on what it means to see the
world around them. Classes are taught by Leo Neufeld\, a former Copyist at
both the National Gallery of Art (Washington\, D.C.) and the Metropolitan
Museum of Art (NYC). Mr. Neufeld has studied at the National Academy of
Design (NYC) the Art Students League (NYC)\, and the New York Academy of
Art. The winner of numerous awards and commissions\, Mr. Neufeld is also an
art educator who has successfully mentored students at Albuquerque High
School. Participation is free\, but please call the Library at (505)
867-1440 to register as places are limited.
